Song: Somewhere in Time (Piano by Maksim)

Maksim - Somewhere In Time

Polymath philosophers Plato and Aristotle discussed in their works the effect of music on one's personality. When I took a Ancient Political Thoughts under Professor Felipe "Pepe" Miranda (it will be my second time to take him because he was my first Political Science prof), he asked me randomly on what is my favorite piano song. I blurted out "Somewhere in Time". I didn't said it out of the blue. I always remember my childhood in Ilocos Norte when we don't have any television, only radio (some kids might not know this old gadget). Always heard this song being played and it was my lullaby.

Now how could I connect it with Plato and Aristotle's discussion on music preference and one's personality. Let's just say I like slow songs and it defines my personality. Listen to Somewhere in Time and you feel nostalgic to the past. Or in the future. Or you would forget the concept of time. Or lost in time. Thinking some philosophical things. That is what people said to me. Sort of lost. But not totally lost. I just take  things slowly in an unhurried way.

Some people said that slow songs is what some poets (generic term for literary people or reader) like. Very idealistic, somewhat lost. Indeed I am.I always dwell not on the temporal but on the ethereal.

Now what is your song that suits your personality?
