Notes:
1) Nice defense
Credit should be given to the State U's back four (Mark Fernandez, Deo Segunial, Miguel Roy and Allen Serna) and to some instance the goalkeeper (Tyrone Caballes). NO GOALS where fielded by any team, the only team to achieve the feat.The mark of the State U's strategy.
2) Goal Drought
So far only 2 GOALS have been fielded by the Maroons and that is against Ateneo (which is surprisingly is at the 4th spot). Blamed it maybe on the attackers/wingers (Valmayor after splendid last year is still searching for his first goal so as Jay Eusebio). Weird is the two goals came both from set plays and from players not in the attacker role (Roy is a defender while Ayi is a sweeping midfielder). Who to blame? Some said it is on the midfield.. Players don't communicate so those supply balls from the midfield which should reach the attackers were few.
3) Nathan Octavio Brilliant Passing and Dribbling Skills
Credit should be given to the captain of the team Nathan Octavio. Last year, he played the full back position but Coach Anto knowing the skill of this kid move him in the midfield as a sweeper (and sometimes as a creative midfielder or secondary striker). Best dribbler in UAAP football IMO.
Hope they will more focus on the second round. There is still a chance since the difference of the top 4 teams are very close.A win will move a team at the top. What do I wish for the State U? More goals and no DRAWS nor LOSS. Let's Go State! Let's GOAL UP!
